Put Yourself in History

This is a photo taken during the Cambodian-Vietnam War at Angkor Wat. I would want to be there so see what happen during the time and what it looked like. My mom would tell me the things she went through but I feel I would better understand if I was there.

Artificial Intelligence in Photography

AI has become an integral part of the photography world. When incorporated into cameras, it offers a range of impressive features like facial recognition, red eye correction, subject recognition, and zoom & enhance. For portrait photographers, the camera’s autofocus system is a game-changer as it can instantly identify the subject’s face. The red eye fix feature is also handy as it eliminates the red color and enhances the clarity of your photos. Moreover, subject recognition allows photographers to focus more on their composition rather than constantly adjusting settings.

The zoom and enhance feature is particularly useful as it enables you to zoom in without compromising the original resolution. Alternatively, it can enhance the resolution of your photos, making them suitable for large prints. Over the years, AI has continuously evolved, revolutionizing the field of photography. Nowadays, AI can perform tasks like AI Image Generation, AI Image Upscaling, and other software with AI capabilities. I personally believe that the progress of AI in photography is a significant step forward, although it should not be solely relied upon for creating art. However, in certain situations, heavy reliance on AI can be justified.

Black and white photography is special because it eliminates color, allowing the viewer to pay attention to other artistic elements. When shooting in RAW, a colorless image becomes more vibrant with its intricate details. Contrast plays a crucial role as it enhances shadows and highlights. Composition becomes particularly significant when capturing black and white images. To capture a captivating black and white photo, one must have the skill to perceive shapes, lines, and textures; otherwise, the picture will lack interest.

Photography is a powerful art form that withstands the fast-paced world of modern media. It captures significant moments just like our minds do. By freezing time, we can create emotional connections with others through a single image. Professional photographers can use their skills to highlight important issues, whether it’s raising awareness about endangered species or sparking social change. Photography can also document historical conflicts and show progress and growth. Through visual storytelling, photography helps us understand the world around us and connect with others on a deeper level.

Fill flash is a method in photography where the camera flash is employed to brighten up the shadows in a picture. This technique is particularly beneficial when the main subject is not well-lit due to insufficient natural light. Fill flash can come in handy during sunny days when the sunlight is too harsh. By mastering this technique, you can effectively use fill flash to enhance the details in the foreground of landscape shots. Fill flash has the potential to enhance various types of photography, including portraits, macro, and landscapes.

1- External flash is typically used to capture fast-moving subjects or in low-light conditions.

2- No light metering is required when using flash as it does not rely on natural light.

3- Flash synchronization refers to the maximum shutter speed that can effectively work with the flash.

4- ETTL stands for Evaluative Through The Lens, a flash exposure system commonly used by Canon.

5- Shooting faster than the camera sync speed can result in an image with half dark and half visible.

6- Photographers bounce the flash and use a diffuser to soften the light and enhance the image quality.

7- A slave is a feature that enables triggering multiple flashes simultaneously.

8- Adjusting the aperture is recommended if the image turns out too dark or too light. Lower the aperture number for dark images and increase it for bright images.
